Showcase Video first opened its doors for business on April 7th 1994. Its aim…to provide an opportunity for the public to rent movies with a guarantee of high quality picture and sound.

Up until then, most stores offered rentals at a low price, but also with low quality. Slowly, word spread about the quality offered and by 1996, Showcase had built up such a collection and customer base that a shop twice the size of the original was needed, and so the business moved from Griva Digeni to Faneromenis Avenue where it continued to build it’s reputation as The place to go if you wanted to find all the latest releases.

2003 proved to be the most important year in the history of Showcase. After almost 3 years of planning and building, the new flagship store was opened on May 5th 2003 on 1st April Avenue. Boasting a ground floor of over 300sqm, the future of DVD and video rental was being presented to its loyal customers, many of which still rented from Showcase ever since becoming members at the first store back in 1994.

Not content with being one of the biggest DVD rental stores in Cyprus, in 2004 Showcase took its vast collection of movies Online to provide its customer base of by now over 8600 members the opportunity to browse the entire catalogue and place reservations online.

On 23rd December 2005, Showcase began a new era of DVD rental by launching its own 24 hour automatic DVD rental service. All our new releases and a selection of our classic titles are now available any time, day or night. Also available through our automatic service is a selection of games for Plastation 2, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii.
